May, Where have you gone?

The month is flying by. What have I been doing, you ask?
Tis the season for greenhouse visits...
Starting a vegetable garden in a little corner of my yard secured from dog and hopefully, rabbit invasion...
Starting a vegetable plot at the Community gardens at a neighbouring Elementary school...
Making cards and treats to donate to the KW Humane Society Wiggle Waggle Walkathon...
Starting back at Golf with my peeps...
It's been a busy month.

Happy 10th Birthday Maya

It's either today or tomorrow. I can never be sure but we will be celebrating with a long walk through the forest and maybe a special treat or two.
Happy Birthday, MyMy! I forgive you for laying on my hostas yesterday. 😍

April Challenge

We're on a roll. Keeping up the monthy card exchange and using new products as we go. This month I borrowed the Your Next Stamp Monster set from Keri and she used her own previously untouched Tea cup dies from MFT.
And here is her card...
These are the monster stamps I borrowed....
And here's the card I made...
Very versatile. I think I should make a few more of these.

Skor Cookies

I wanted to make a basic cookie yesterday and use up a couple things in my pantry so I decided to make these Skor cookies. They are delish! might stick a bit to your cookie sheet so make sure it well greased or tempered. A nice plain buttery cookie with a hint of toffee.

Skor Cookies

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/3 cups Chipits Skor Toffee bits

Cream butter and sugars, add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Drop by cookie scoop onto well-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350F 10 to 12 min.

Wedding season

Wedding season is coming right up and I'm looking forward to a very special wedding event this Fall so it's got me in the mood to make some cards.

I saw something similar on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a whirl. I couldn't find the appropriate colour or size of dots to go in the center of my flowers and then I remembered, I got a couple Nuvo drops in a card kit way back when. I gave it a shot applying directly to the card and gave it a lot of time to dry (overnight) and voila the perfect embellishment. Of course, I then had to run out to my favourite LSS and purchase a few more "favourite" colours.

I'm all about value and this did the trick. You can also make your own dots and adhere with an adhesive dot. I just dropped mine onto waxed paper.
